Donna’s first experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry was as a server in 1986 at CaféLaRuche, a French menu restaurant with locations in Washington D.C.’s prestigious Georgetown, and an equally prestigious location in White Flint Mall in Bethesda, Maryland. Though at the time she had never considered a career as a restaurateur, her fascination for the industry only grew as time passed. After a few years at Café LaRuche, she went onto work as an administrator with the Charles E. Smith Companies, which took her to Office Manager positions in other well-known companies in the Metropolitan area throughout the 1990’s. Over the past fifteen years, she has served as Office Manager at a boutique investment advisory practice, Sodexo Marriott and Vapiano International where she helped facilitate and open their first three restaurants in the U.S. Donna has lived in the Springfield/Burke, Virginia neighborhood since 1983 and is very excited to have started Monty’s Steakhouse & Lounge, a destination spot for families, business people and community members who have a true desire for the upscale, fine dining atmosphere and prime menu choices that Monty’s provides.
Chef Marco holds the Executive Chef position for Monty’s Steakhouse & Lounge. Previously, Chef Marco spent 6 years at the Country Club of Woodmore in Maryland, and another 6 years at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. Born in Cochabamba, Bolivia and raised in the United States, Marco has felt comfortable and completely in his element at a very young age. His love for the food & hospitality business steered him to attend the Culinary Institute of America, “the world’s premier culinary college”, as well as L’Academie de Cuisine, a recognized leader in pastry arts. Chef Marco’s creative inspirations are a natural fit with Monty’s principle to use only the freshest ingredients and seasonal specials to create perfection from scratch. When asked why he likes to work at Monty’s Steakhouse & Lounge, he says, “From the moment I met the owners, I felt that this is a company who truly takes pride in their staff as well as the meals and service provided. I take great pride in preparing every meal and am glad to have found an organization with the same values as mine.”
